2 Original Concept Audience is 15-16 year olds
Outreach videos should focus on a specific topic Videos should be short (4-10 minutes) Capture students’ imagination Present scientific understanding in the context of doing science – scientific process Evidence for currently accepted scientific ideas Questions that still need to be answered Who, What, Where, How, and Why these questions will be pursued Our pilot episode provides an example of these Talking points… Avoid highly technical or mathematical presentations Keep the tone fun but not silly or childish Keep the scope of the video as narrow as possible so it can be used flexibly by the teacher and not require too much background knowledge Keep the video short…use it as a hook. Let the teacher teach the details if they chose. Capture students imaginations right away with the opening sequence
