2. Explosions ripped through a fireworks market north of Mexico City on Tuesday, killing at least 29 people. The town is known for its pyrotechnics industry and the huge San Pablito market is popular for fireworks sales. The market would have been especially crowded heading into the holidays as locals shopped for fireworks to mark Christmas and New Year celebrations. The cause of the explosion was not immediately known. Fireworks accidents are common in Mexico -- even more so at the end of the year and during religious festivals.

The man arrested in the attack on a Berlin Christmas market has been released for lack of evidence. So police have launched a manhunt for a Tunisian man in his early 20s. His ID was found in the truck that was intentionally driven through a crowd at the market, killing 12 people.
President Obama wants to cement his environmental legacy, so that's why he moved to ban offshore drilling in parts of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans. And the incoming Trump administration will have a tough time reversing the action. That's because President Obama didn't use an executive order but a 63-year-old law to declare portions of the oceans off limits to future oil and gas leasing.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2017 has been announced. This year's inductees are Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur and Yes. To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released their first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
The Philadelphia Eagles have two pro bowl selections on their team this year. Jason Peters was named to his 9th career Pro Bowl and Fletcher Cox was named to his 2nd career Pro Bowl.
