Selected for different uses 14,16, 18 larger gauge catheter , minimum for blood 20, 22, 24 smaller and peds Vein selection also- Lets look at them- put a tourniquet on each other and look at veins on your arms and hands –what size could they take Give ach student a large and small gauge catheter

7 Lets do a race! Set up a litre bag to 24 ga 22ga 20ga 18ga 14ga
14ga with pressure bag attached With a stop watch, open all up and measure how long to run 250ml and whole bag Make a chart showing all times Type 250 1000 mL 24ga 22ga 20ga 18ga 14ga 14ga pressure
