It occupies space
composed of atoms
Everything is made of matter

Its used to identify a substance

Malleability- able to be beaten into a thin sheet
Ductility- ability to be pulled into a wire
Conductivity- ability to transfer heat or electricity
Hardness- how easily a substance can be scratched

Melting Point/Freezing Point- temperature at which the substance reaches the solid and liquid phases
Boiling Point- the temperature at which liquid will become a vapor
Density- the ratio of mass of a substance to volume
Mass- the amount of matter in a object
Volume- the amount of space a substance occupies
Length- distance between two points
Combustibility- ability to burn
