Common Core State Standards
Mathematical Content Standards The Standards aim for clarity and specificity, moving away from a curriculum that has been a “ mile wide and an inch deep” The Standards encourage students to be learners that not only know HOW to do something but WHY they do something.

Homework Homework is used as practice in order to reinforce daily lessons, as well as assist students on assessments. Students will record the homework assignments for Math in their agendas and it is located on the Gnomes site as well as Mr. Love’s math site. Students are expected to complete homework daily and work should be shown always. Students will be given homework Monday through Friday and will consist of questions. Homework is checked daily for accuracy and completion.

Formative and Summative Assessment
Formative Assessment Is part of the instructional process. It provides me information needed to adjust teaching and learning while they are happening. Summative Assessment Summative assessments are an accountability measure that are used as part of the grading process. Tests % Quiz % HW/Classwork 10% Grade Scale A B 92-85 C 84-77 D 76–70 F 69-0
8
Rework Policy 6 AND 6+ Any student who scores less than a 77% on a TEST or QUIZ may rework missed questions on that assessment to earn half credit back up to a 77%. The rework will usually be done during working lunch OR SPARTAN TIME with a peer tutor.
9
Progress Reports and Powerschools
Progress reports will be sent home for all core classes at the halfway point in the quarter. Please make sure you sign them and return to school. Powerschools allows access to your child’s grades anytime (click on grade to open up detailed grades).

Grade Sheet example Overall average for Q1
50% of grade-students can make corrections if below 77% 40% of grade Summative 10% of grade
