Meditation I Peter 2:9-10 You are a …holy nation, a people for God’s possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into God’s marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

*Call to Worship One: We give thanks for Eve, the mother of us all, and for those who have been mothers to us, loving us and nurturing us in the faith that we might know the precious love of Jesus. Many: We give thanks for Jesus who longed to gather the children of Jerusalem up like a mother hen gathers her chicks.
7
One: We give thanks for those who follow in Ruth’s footsteps showing kindness to their mother-in-laws. Many: We give thanks that God comforts parents whose children have died and welcomes them with loving arms in Heaven.
8
One: We give thanks for You, O Creator, who created our inmost beings; You knit us together in our mother’s wombs. Many: We give thanks that God comforts those who are motherless, childless or bereft in anyway.
