Last lesson we: Investigated what houses were like in the towns of Britain during the Industrial Revolution This lesson we will: Find out about some of the horrible diseases that spread because of living conditions in this time Next lesson we will: Begin to plan an assessed piece of writing about living conditions during the Industrial Revolution

4 Task: On your own – write down your first prediction about how you think Mrs Miggins might have died? The starter relies on students having some prior knowledge on what a ‘cellar dwelling’ is. The slide with the image of the house from previous lesson would be useful! Clue A: Mrs Miggins lives in a Cellar Dwelling at 616 Broad Street, Lewis Square, Nottingham.

5 Task: Your teams have been chosen to investigate the mysterious events surrounding the death of Mrs Miggins. Instructions: You will be given a record sheets to individually record the details you will be given. You will get 3 different evidence packs to assist your investigation. After each evidence pack, you will write a team theory about how Mrs Miggins died. You will get a chance to go to the WALL OF CERTAINTY to explain your theory after seeing all of the evidence packs.

You mention some of the sources. Level 5: You write an explanation of your theory that is supported by the evidence that you have seen. Level 6: Your theory also describes which is the biggest factor in the death of Mrs Miggins. Level 7: You compare all the different causes of death together and explain why one is more important than another.
