S4P3 Force & Motion Atticus Heathscott

Simple Machines Lever: used to help move heavy load with one end, when pressure is applied to the other. Pulley: a wheel on an axle that is used to support movement and change of direction of a cable Wedge: used to push two objects apart, or cut an object into pieces

Changes in Force Heavy objects need more force
Nothing moves, stops, or changes direction without force A large force = large change Small objects need less force Small things will go faster than large things if they are applied with the same amount of force A small force = small amount of motion

What happens? If a ball is rolling slowly across a pool table and a pool cue hits the ball with greater force then was originally used, the acceleration of the ball will increase. The direction can change depending on how it is hit.

Gravitational Force When you throw a ball it falls, that is because of gravity, if there was no gravity everything would float that is why we need gravity.
