1 Welcome to the TRE Media Center

2 General Information Media Specialist Ms. Flint Hours of Operation (Students) 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM daily Checkout Ends at 2:15 PM

3 General Information (Conti.)
No food or drinks are allowed in the media center. Keep the media center clean and neat. Students are to push their chair under the table or computer workstation when they get up.

Students are allowed to visit the media center individually or with their class. If students visit the media center individually, they must have a pass from their teacher.

5 Rituals and Routines Students are to enter the media center quietly and use their indoor voice during their entire visit.

Students will use the computer at the circulation desk to sign in. Students are to place their hall pass in the basket.

Students will retrieve their library card. The library card contains the student’s name, barcode #, and Lexile measure. Doe Jones, Tori 750 650 800 Front Back

The information on back of the library card will help students locate books within their Lexile range. 750 650 800 Back

Students will obtain a shelf marker and proceed to the shelves to search for a library book.

If students see a book on the shelf that they are interested in reviewing, they are to place their shelf marker on the shelf before removing the book. This will help students place the book in the correct location if they decide not to check out the book.

Students are to review the book.

12 Rituals and Routines (Conti.)
If students decide not to checkout a book that was removed from the shelf, they must place the book back on the shelf with the spine facing outward. If students would like to checkout a book that was removed from the shelf, they will take the book and shelf marker to the circulation desk so that the media specialist or library helper can check out the book in their name.

After checking out their book, students will: turn in their shelf marker retrieve their pass

14 Borrowing Library Books from the Media Center
Kindergarten and 1st grade students may checkout two library books at a time. Second through Fifth grade students may checkout three library books at a time. All students may checkout library books for two weeks. All students are responsible for the library books that they checkout.

15 Borrowing Library Books from the Media Center (Conti.)
When students return their library books to the media center, they are expected to place the library books in the book drop.

16 Borrowing Library Books from the Media Center (Conti.)
Checkout/Overdue notices will be sent out at the end of each grading period. Late fees are not charged. Students must pay for lost or damaged books.
