3 March 2016 Note Cards Today you will learn what these note cards are all about & how they will help keep you from plagiarizing. You will create some note cards for one of your sources. Next week, you will be expected to make note cards for all your sources.

The Note Card: Write your note here. Don’t copy everything word for word. If you want to use a quotes, that’s great, just don’t go overboard quotes is enough. Write a specific topic of the note’s focus. When you make note cards, you will write down information that answers your research questions. This may also lead you to ask more questions and omit some questions you initially had. This is okay! You may come across information that is completely unrelated to your research questions. You may really like this information and want to include it in your paper. This, too, is okay! The more information you have, the better.

For each source, I made notes (note cards) for individual pieces of information I want to include in my paper. These are my note cards for Source #1.. Notice that each note card also has a “1” on it – indicating which source the info came from.

For each source, I made notes (note cards) for individual pieces of information I want to include in my paper. These are my note cards for Source #2.. Notice that each note card also has a “2” on it – indicating which source the info came from.

For each source, I made notes (note cards) for individual pieces of information I want to include in my paper. These are my note cards for Source #3.. Notice that each note card also has a “3” on it – indicating which source the info came from.

Note Cards Complete: When you have finished taking notes from all your sources, you will organize the note cards according to the SPECIFIC TOPIC (top left-hand corner). These specific topics will be topics (main ideas) of the paragraphs that form the body of your paper.

Paragraph about Pete Seeger protesting with his music… 1st, I organized the notes into the order I wanted to put the info in my paragraph. Then I formed my own sentences using the information and put the source # in parentheses at the end of my sentence.
