Why are……?
2
Why is the sky blue? Nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the atmosphere absorb violet and blue wavelengths. The atoms reemit the violet and blue light in all directions, scattering it.
3
Why is the sky blue? Violet light is scattered more than blue light.
Humans can see blue frequencies better than violet, so we perceive the sky as blue. The drier and less polluted the air, the brighter the blue.

5
Why are sunsets red? The lower frequency colors of light are transmitted by the atmosphere. As the sun sets, the light has to pass through more of the atmosphere to reach the Earth. This causes the blues and violets to be scattered and reds and yellows to pass through
6
Why are sunsets red? The introduction of even larger particles causes the sunset to get redder. Volcanic eruptions cause even more of the blue and violet to be absorbed, which makes the sunset redder.

8
Why are clouds white? The water droplets inside clouds come in a wide variety of sizes. Result: All colors of light are scattered. Red + Blue + Green Light = White
