2. The operations are performed sequentially from left to right in the order of ‘BODMAS’.
In BODMAS the letter B means Brackets, O means Of, D means Division, M means Multiplication, A means Addition, S means Subtraction.

Brackets are grouping symbols to indicate a preference in the order of operations.

If more than one grouping symbols are used, we first perform the operations within the innermost symbol and remove it.
Next we proceed to the operations within the next innermost symbols and so on.
2) Next Operation – “Of” is performed before Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction
We sometimes come across expressions like ‘twice of 3’, ‘one - fourth of 20’,‘half of 10’ etc. In these expressions, ‘of’ means ‘multiplication with’.
For example,
(i) ‘twice of 3’ is written as 2 x 3,
(ii) ‘one - fourth’ of 20 is written as
‘half of 10’ is written as
2) Next Multiplication, Division is performed from left to right before Addition and subtraction
3) Finally Addition and subtraction are performed from left to right
