Tom Siep was born in Denver, Colorado, USA. He is a Group Member Technical Staff in the Wireless Communications Business Unit of Texas Instruments. He has responsibility for coordinating Short Distance Wireless communications Research and Development. Tom earned a Bachelors degree in Management from the University of California at Fullerton and a Masters in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas. He has twenty-five years experience in many facets of communications and information systems. In the last fifteen years Tom has championed the cause of Local Area and Personal Area Wireless communications at TI by providing technical leadership in the implementation of several pilot wireless communications systems for TI customers and through his IEEE Standards participation.
