Positive Impacts of Imperialism
Colonies were industrialized and modernized Railway lines Communication lines Education provided in some colonies Colony is protected by the mother country

Negative Impacts of Imperialism
Natural Resources were being drained Mother country held all the political power Native people treated unfairly Native industries restricted or banned

Document Activity At your table, each seat is going to be assigned a different document. Everyone will have a chance to read and reflect on each document. You will have 5 minutes to read the document and write the main idea on the piece of paper at your desk After time is up you will rotate clockwise to the next seat until you have read and written down the main idea for each document

Now that you have read all 4 documents, groups are now going to rotate clockwise to the next table At this table, you are going to read the main ideas written down by the previous group You must choose the best main idea for each document and place it on the outline that has been provided for you Once your groups has agreed on a main idea for each document you then must pull information from the documents that support the main idea This information will be placed on your outline under the main idea that it is supporting
