2 Wednesday March 29, 2016 On March 8, 1848, the buildor of the worlds first roller coaster was born. La Marcus Thompson who is often called the “Father of the Gravity Ride, created the first gravity-powered roller coaster in the U.S. at Coney island New York. La Marcus was a natural mechanic. At the age of 12, he design a butter churn and an oxcart his roller coaster paved the way for future rides such as Space Mountain at Disney world.

Lady Capulet Paris Juliet Romeo and Juliet is meant to be watched, not read. It’s really much easier to understand what’s happening when you can visualize what characters are doing and who’s on the “stage.” So, we’re going to act it out! Things to Know: Stage Directions (words in italics, enter and exit) Stage Freeze (We will need to stop fairly often to check for understanding)

For the rest of class, you have three jobs: 1. Complete your the guide for Act 3, Scene from last time if you haven’t yet. Remember, it’s due today! 2. Complete the Act 3, Scene 4-5 Study Guide. This packet will be due the next time I see you (Friday). 3. Study for your quiz on Friday! Use the vocab review on the last page of your packet to see what you know and what you don’t.
