1 LSC Hon Secretary Report
Lisa McCullough 17th October 2018

2 Our Aim To provide every swimmer with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be the BEST they can be for as long as they want to participate in the sport of swimming.

3 Committee Members 2018 Current committee has nominations for the following office bearers: Chairman/ Secretaries, CCO (2 meets SI requirements)/ Treasurer, President and vice president. We have capacity for at least a further 4 committee members, we currently have vacancies for volunteer secretary, pool bookings, and newsletter developer (these position do not necessarily require you to be on the committee) Over the last year we have received fantastic support from parents who have children in the junior club in particular which provides a good proportion of representation from senior and junior club members.

4 Child Protection Officers
We have two child protection officers: Gillian Simpson and Joanne Phyllips Stewart. Both Officers have children in the Junior Club Their role is to be independent advocates for our swimmers helping them with any concerns or issues They are expected to develop a higher level of expertise regarding safeguarding issues Be a link between children and adults Advise the club and parents regarding safeguarding issues. 5 Club Ambassador Danielle Hill is the Club Ambassador
She represents the club from a public relations perspective which promotes the club regionally, nationally and internationally Danielle has commenced 1st year at Ulster University undertaking a BSc Hons in Sport and Exercise. Danielle teaches younger children to swim and is a great support for both junior and senior swimmers in our club, always giving motivation advice. Club Ambassador

6 Club Captains We have appointed two new club captains: Sienna Teggart and David Roberts Our captains are looking forward to supporting LSC at PTL’s and in particular our junior swimmers at Aquasprint season. Our captains are also keen for ideas and support from swimmers and parents to make this swimming year the best it can be. Our captains are looking forward to planned trips including the infamous Crap Christmas Camp.

7 We have secured sponsorship with Allsop Engineering they committed to 3 years of financial support for the club. This company has a strong family ethos, that has grounded historic connections to LSC. The partners of the company are Trevor and Richard, Trevor is a very involved grandfather of one of our swimmers. Claire is our PR link. The company deal in software engineering for many local companies they don’t have any negative moral or ethical related issues. The company has won regional awards for success as a small business over the last year. Fund Raising

8 Club Mark We are among 4 of the top clubs in the region We have achieved Club Mark Award since 2016 and are on target to maintain this Award in 2018. We have our club development plan available via website. We have met all Swim Ireland requirements regarding Club Structure, development and future planning. We have received funding from SI as a result of our high performance swimmers to enhance their contribution to Swim Ireland (Danielle Hill) We have other developing swimmers in the club with very high potential

9 High Performance Support
If the Club can maintain its Charter Mark and high performance status, it will continue to receive additional funding from Swim Ireland to support the High performance swimmers. Previously we have been able to use this money to support many other swimmers within our club, with psychotherapy and dietetic advice. Many swimmers have engaged in gym and land training as part of their own development which has been guided and supported by the club. High Performance Support

10 We plan to continue to develop LSC as a high performance Club
We look forward to developing and encouraging high performance swimmers from the potential we currently have in junior and development swimmers We have a strong Learn to Swim programme with an equally strong coaching team We want every swimmer to be the best they can be whatever level they are at. We want our swimmers to enjoy their sport We want our swimmers to have fun in and outside the pool. We have a coaching team who really care about the young people they are supporting and developing them in a life skill that will have a massive impact at every level in the future The future of LSC
