Piecewise Functions A piecewise function is a function that has different rules for parts of its domain. In other words, a piecewise function is made up of different pieces. Each “piece” is an equation, with its domain written as an inequality.

Continuity A function is called continuous if it has no jumps, breaks, or holes. You can trace the entirety of a continuous function without lifting your pencil. Some piecewise functions are continuous, while others are not. Examples
