3 NCAA Purpose To keep intercollegiate sports, clean, fair, and competitive for all institutions.  Generate millions of dollars each year as income for member schools. NCAA Result: a widening gap between fair play and equity for all involved.  

4 Socio-Economics Dreams – (Before Career) Playing the NBA Money Cars
Promises (During Career) Lies Deceit Cheating Reality (After Career) Few earn college degrees (less than 45%) Fewer make the NBA

5 Revenue College basketball is a huge business.
Schools, coaches, administrators, and others make billions off student athletes.

6 The Enablers Lucrative shoe and apparel licensing agreements drive the business. Today, no major program is without a significant licensing agreement

7 Expenditures Scholarships (tuition, room, and board) for players.
Athletic department salaries (Coaches and administrators), equipment, & recruitment budget.

8 Coaches/Athletic Departments
Winning is more important to many schools than following the rules. Schools keep getting millions of dollars to stay on top. Coaches keep getting the best player's to feed their ego's. The pressure to be successful and stay successful is too high. Expectations from schools, fans, and alumni very unrealistic.

9 Future of College Basketball
The top programs like the NCAA how it is today and want to continue on this path. The small. less successful schools seek and demand changes to even the playing field. The rich will continue to get richer, while the poor will stay poor. Money makes the world go around – and basketball too.
