The Werewolf The wolf is the embodiment of preceding generations of mothers (rather than the patriarchal view normally portrayed by wolves) Pathetic fallacy Condescending view of the people and their superstitions. Women’s attempts to free themselves domestically (‘she prospered’) Explore meaning in the term prospered in your pairs.

The Company of Wolves The wolves in the winter forest are hungry.
A girl sets out through the forest to her Granny’s house. She meets a young man who bets her a kiss that he can reach the house first. The young man wolf arrives first and eats Granny. The young girl sleeps soundly in Granny’s bed with the wolf.

Girl seizing control of the situation, burning the wolfs clothes as man is a greater threat than the wolf. meat-= archetypal viewpoint of women as sexual objects for the consumption of men.

Wolf- Alice Girl raised by wolves is brought back into society.
Placed in the care of the Duke, a werewolf. The girl grows up and discovers puberty and dresses in white. The Duke, hunting as a wolf, is wounded. The girl tends his wounds and he regains his shape as the Duke.
