10 Readability Readability is the ease with which a reader can understand a written text. Did you know: The average newspaper is written at a Grade 11 level Did you know: The average Canadian adult reading level is Grade 7 or 8 How to check your document’s readability in word Word Click the Back Arrow at the top left, and then click Word Options. Click Proofing. Make sure Check grammar with spelling is selected. Under When correcting grammar in Word, select the Show readability statistics check box.

14 Accessible Media – Captioning and Transcripts
Video Captions Audio Transcripts When video files are used in your website, captions or a synchronized text transcript should be provided.
