Introduction
Hired as the GIS Coordinator in September, 2002
Became an official “Enterprise GIS” in 2004
Released the first public facing GIS website in ArcIMS
In 2008, ArcGIS Server was introduced and we upgraded our ArcIMS site with this technology using ESRI’s ADF (Application Development Framework)
We began using ESRI’s Silverlight API in March, 2009

SPEED—image rendering far superior in SL
SL Architecture vastly reduces the round-trips to the server
Take advantage of MSD (dynamic) services
ArcGIS Server is not required to be installed on server where SL GIS website is hosted
Embed video media directly into SL application
Take advantage of client-side ISO storage to save bookmarks and other application settings
