2. Purpose
To evaluate the effectiveness of the LEND and DBP Training programs in meeting the goals and objectives of the Combating Autism Act Initiative.
We will conduct independent evaluations of each training program.

3. Overview of Methodology
Quantitative Data Collection
NIRS new module
LEND: Grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be asked to report in 09 and 2010; other grantees will be asked to report in 2010.
DBP: the 6 programs awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be asked to report in 09 and Other DBPs will not be asked to report.
Additional quantitative data may be obtained from the EHB.

4. Overview of Methodology
Qualitative Data Collection
Summary progress reports
For grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09, we will extract data from summary progress reports for FY 2009 and 2010.
In-depth interviews
LEND: 22 grantees will be interviewed in 09; all will be interviewed in 2010.
DBP: 6 CAAI grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be interviewed in 09 and 2010.
