If you choose to do the entire course, you have two options to earn elective credit towards your high school diploma requirements. There are two ways to earn credit: through your school, or through Griggs International Academy. Here are the steps you’d follow to earn credit through your school. First, you could ask your school counselor or registrar if they would award credit if you took the class. Always ask before you enroll in the class, so you can make an informed choice. Print copies of the Course Overview and the Syllabus, as these provide concise information about the learning outcomes and activities. Discuss how much of the course you must complete and the number of elective credits you will receive. As this course will take 70 or more hours to complete, it is worthy of 0.5 Carnegie units or ½ a credit. The other option is to apply for Griggs International Academy credit. You may pay the recording fee for 0.5 units, or credits. Be sure to note this in your Let’s Get Acquainted worksheet, or and let your instructor know you’re committed to finishing all in a timely manner. Once all the coursework is complete, you’re ready to fill in your part of the GIA Credit Request, and follow directions to send the form to your instructor. Your instructor can verify you completed all work with a grade of C or above. Then you can send it in with payment of the recording fee. Once recorded you’ll be able to request your GIA transcript at any time in the future.
