2 Chapter 5-6 Questions After reading chapters 5-6, answer the comprehension questions about the chapters. When finished, place your answers in the bin. You may use your book to answer the questions. Answer the questions in complete sentences! Any unfinished questions should be completed at home using your assigned novel and turned in the next day you return.

3 Novel Vocabulary For many of the chapters in the book, students will be working with new vocabulary. Here are the steps below for all new terms: Write the sentence the word appears in. Predict the meaning of the word. Write the sentence from the text that the word is used in. Verify the definition by looking it up in a dictionary. Write your own sentence using the word. Draw a small picture to help you remember the word.

Use the diagram to compare and contrast Newcharlie and Lafayette. Think about their appearance, background, personality, and actions. Answer the questions about the similarities and differences listed in the diagram.

8 Chapter 5-8 Quiz After reading chapters 5-8, answering the comprehension questions, and doing an oral review with the class, you will take a quiz on the chapters. The quiz is worth 8 points with a Bonus Question for extra points. A make-up day will be assigned for absent students.
