3 Tips for revisions Revising: What?
Use lots of ways to revise Plan your revision with a timetable Read, and write summaries of, your notes Sketch mind maps (spider diagrams) of key issues Use mnemonics (rhymes of word lists) to prompt you Revise with a friend: ask and answer questions Work through past exam papers Answer guided questions in revision books

4 Revising Where? Try to find somewhere where you won't be disturbed.
Make sure you have an empty desk to work at, with everything you need at hand for the session ahead. Have plenty of scrap paper handy. If you're using the web to revise, make sure you know what you want to improve on before you start.

5 Revising When? You can never revise enough might be true, but don't sit for hours on end working at the same subject—your revision will be most effective in the first hour. So make sure you: plan revision slots of between minutes have something to look forward to, e.g. a TV show tick off things that you have done, and note things you have to do

6 Listening Exam Your listening exam may last for around 30mins.
You'll be asked to listen to a CD in French and you will have to answer questions in both English or French. You may be allowed to study the questions before the recording plays. You will hear each extract two or three times. To answer some questions, you may have to: tick a correct answer state whether an answer is true or false write a letter or number to indicate the correct answer write a word or phrase complete a sentence You do not necessarily need to answer in full sentences, but make sure that you include all the details you have been asked for.

7 Reading Exam Your reading exam may last for around 45 mins to 1 hour. You'll be asked to read information in French and you may have to answer questions in both English or French. To answer some questions, you may have to: tick a correct answer state whether an answer is true or false write a letter or number to indicate the correct answer write a word or phrase complete a sentence You do not necessarily need to answer in full sentences, but make sure that you include all the details you have been asked for
