1. Welcome to English 10 honors!
Pick up an index card on the desk under the white board (under the “Practice” board).
Find your seat.

2. Who are YOU?
Get into pairs based on the name you have written on your notecard.
These pairs can be friends, romantic couples, etc.
Most of these pairs are literary duos; however, some are from comics, movies, and popular culture.
Once you are in your pair, find three things that you and your partner have in common.
For example, maybe you have both traveled to the same place.
Don’t simply write that you go to John Champe, or are in Ms. Kennedy’s English class. 

4. Introduction to British Literature
Get into seven groups.
In your groups, read the description of your literary era.
Research on your own device what was happening historically during that time period that would have influenced literature.
Write these down on a separate piece of paper (one per group). You will be turning this in, so make sure that your names are written at the top.

The historical events that your group found.
Why that could have influenced literature.

5. Prezi! Make sure you are taking notes

6. In your groups:
Discuss what has happened of historical importance since 1980.
How did these events influence literature?
Name and describe the next era of literature. (Add this to your group’s paper.)
Share out:
The name your group came up with.
Why you chose that name.
