Physical Properties Metals, non-metals, metalloids
2
In class Obj. I am expected to compare metals, non-metals, and metalloids using their physical properties such as luster, conductivity, and malleability. Vocabulary Luster Malleability Conductivity Magnetism Ductile Metals Non-metals Metalloids
3
@home Study your vocabulary words daily
4
Luster the way it reflects light or shines
5
malleability The ability to be hammered in to a thin sheet or into most shapes.
6
conductivity How well it allows heat and electricity to pass through it
7
ductile Can be stretched or rolled into a wire
8
magnetism Being attracted or not attracted to a magnet.
9
metals A substance that is shiny, malleable, hard, and a good conductor of heat and electricity.
10
Non metals A substance that is brittle, not malleable, may be a gas, and a poor conductor of heat and electricity.
11
Metalloid An element that share properties of metals and non metals, they are semi- conductors.
