Important Dates Graduation Ceremony: Monday, May 14, 2018, 7 p.m., MHS Gymnasium. Date will be confirmed by October 1. Last day of Fall semester for semester test-exempt students: December 13 Last day of Fall semester for non-exempt students: December 20 Football Homecoming: Friday, September 22 vs. Paris. Homecoming court elections will take place during the first week of school.

Important Dates 2017 MHS Volleyball Red / White Scrimmage Game: Friday, August 18, 6 p.m. 2017 MHS Football Scrimmage Game vs. Dierks: Friday, August 25, 7 p.m.

Senior Tux / Drape and School Day Photos
Senior tux / drape photos may be taken on Wednesday, August 2, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in the MHS cafeteria. A $25 sitting fee is required. Seniors may take these photos or have them re-taken at school on Wednesday, August 23. School day photos for all students in grades 9-12 will also be taken on Wednesday, August 2, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., MHS cafeteria. No sitting fee is required. Students may also take or re-take these photos on August 23.

Student Vehicle Registration Deadline
All vehicles must be registered no later than Tuesday, September 5 to be parked on campus.

Student Parking Many improvements to the MHS physical plant have been made this year. One of which is in progress now; asphalt paving of the campus drive way and the addition of a partially paved student parking lot. In addition to the parking areas that are designated on campus, a new lot will be added for seniors. Seniors who register their vehicles will be given a senior parking permit for their vehicles and will entitle them to park in the senior-only parking lot.

Tonight, you have the opportunity to complete your paperwork here to avoid the rush of the first week of school! You may also register your vehicles tonight!

Parents’ Quick Reference Guide
Classes begin Monday, August 14. Warning bell at 7:55 a.m., tardy bell at 8 a.m. Immunizations due no later than Friday, September 15. Students must have documentation on file at MHS to continue attending classes beyond September 15. MHS Back-to-School Night, Monday, August 7, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

First Things First! Drop / add deadline to add or drop a class (schedule change) is Wednesday, August 16, 3 p.m. Merit holiday incentive for students; submit completed paperwork to MHS office no later than end of day on Monday, August 21. Breakfast / lunch deposits may be made on the first day of classes (August 14)

2017-18 MHS Student Handbook Policy Change
MHS policy on electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), vaping, has been updated since last school year. MHS policy now defines e-cigarettes as drug paraphernalia, and action may be taken consistent with drug paraphernalia offenses as defined in the student handbook. MHS encourages parents to read the policy and to ask questions if needed regarding how such infractions will be addressed during the school year. New policy applies to campus activities, school-sponsored events, and on school district property (inclusive of but not limited to school buses)

Information for Parents
Parents are highly encouraged to check the MHS webpage frequently to stay informed of school events, schedules, and deadlines. Go to to go to the district’s website. Once there, click on the “schools” tab and then click on “high school” to be taken to the MHS webpage.

E-Notes District has changed text messaging providers for the school year. Text messaging service is a good way of keeping informed of important dates, deadlines, and events at MHS. If you would like to receive E-note, please provide your cell phone number(s) that you would like to use for this service.

School Paperwork Parents are welcome to stay and complete paperwork for their students. Forms and associated information will also be available next Monday night, August 7, at MHS Back-to-School Night. Please remember, completed paperwork is due no later than Monday, August 21.
