2. STUDENT-ATHLETES & ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITY
You are STUDENTS first!
Use the Activity Period (2:20-2:50) to work with teachers throughout the year
If you are struggling with a class, you should be staying after with a teacher, not attending Sport Study hall
Ineligible Student-Athletes will be required to attend ONE session of Academic Workshop (Monday-Thursday 2:50-3:50)

5 Week Reports & Quarter Report Cards that you receive
Your coaches are notified as to what classes you are failing in a report similar to the one below:
Your REEL form MUST have teacher signatures for classes that are on THIS report indicating that youare passing.

What is the difference between being ineligible and being on probation?
Ineligible: If you are failing TWO or more classes, you CANNOT compete but you are allowed to practice
Probation: If you are failing ONE class you CAN compete and practice, but have TEN school days to raise this grade to a 65% or above
Who needs to complete a REEL form?
Student-Athletes who are Ineligible or on Probation must complete a REEL form to regain Eligibility
If you are ON PROBATION and DO NOT submit a REEL form within 10 school days, your status will change to INELIGIBLE.

Where do I submit a REEL form?
All forms are to be turned in to Mrs. Diaz in the Main Office. All REEL forms are due FRIDAY by 12:45 pm
When will I be eligible?
Eligibility can ONLY be reinstated on the Monday following the Friday which you turned in your REEL form .
How will I know I am eligible?
You will be called down to the Main Office Monday & be given the pink copy of your signed REEL form.
Does Eligibility carry over from 4th Quarter?
YES! You are on a probation for 10 days. You must complete a REEL form indicating a 65% or higher in ALL Classes. If you do not do this, your status will change to ineligible.

6. Academic Workshop
Any student-athlete who is placed on the ineligible will be signed up for attend at least one session of Academic Workshop. Academic Workshop runs Monday-Thursday from 2:50 – 3:50 in the Maker Space (Downstairs Library). The student is responsible for obtaining work to complete during their session. If they are completing a test/quiz, the teacher must agree to the student retaking the assessment and drop off the materials to the main office.
