1. The RE ILT Menu: Big Questions

You will need to choose one task from each course. The spicier the task, the trickier the skills it requires. ONE of your three tasks needs to be at least a medium.
House points will be awarded if you have tried your hardest and have put effort into your projects so try and the complete the hardest tasks you think you can manage.
Use a paper clip or staple to attach all three tasks to each other and use this sheet as your front cover. If you have any problems see your teacher before the deadline day.

Course 1 –
Where did the world come from?
Create a comic strip to show how Christians believe God created the world in 7 days. You should draw a picture per day and write what they believe God created on each day
You should then write if you agree or disagree with this idea and explain why.
Draw a venn diagram to compare two creation stories or theories. Put one theory in each circle, and write how it explains how the world was created. In the overlapping area in the middle, write anything that the two ideas have in common. Around the outside of the diagram write any differences between them.
Writing in as much detail as you can, explain HOW you think the world was created. Then explain 3 different reasons for WHY you think this.
You should then explain another creation story or theory, but this time, one you disagree with. Evaluate this idea by giving 3 reasons for WHY you disagree with it.
Course 2 –
What will happen after we die?
Explain what you think will happen after death. Write two detailed reasons for why you hold this opinion.
Use the internet to find a picture that sums up your opinion. Label the picture to explain how it shows your view.
Research the Christian beliefs of heaven and hell. Describe these two places then explain how Christians think someone would get into heaven and why someone might be sent to Hell.
Explain how believing in Heaven and Hell might affect someone’ life. Give an example.
Follow think link then watch the video about reincarnation;
Draw a picture or diagram to explain what reincarnation is then explain what it is in your own words.
Finally, evaluate this idea. Explain two reasons for why someone might believe in it, and two reasons for why someone might disagree with it.
Course 3-
Ask your own big question.
Choose a questions from either course 1 or course 2.
Ask 5 different people what their opinion is and what their reason for their opinion is. Bullet point the 5 different answers and make sure that you write their reasons in detail.
Choose any of the big questions we have looked at in class or one of your own. Ask your teacher if you are stuck for ideas.
Use the internet and books to research and find three different answers or responses to your question. Summarise each view and explain the reasons for their opinion in detail.
Finally, write your own opinion giving two reasons for this.

Read the instructions in italics in the mild and medium tasks and complete these for your own question. Then create a PowerPoint slide show to present your findings.
Add a conclusion slide in which you should explain if your opinion has changed after your research. Explain why it has or hasn’t.
