1 Name: _____________________ What do you already know?
Group: Name: _____________________ What do you already know? What have you learnt this lesson? “Know” (Level 3 skill) Draw a complete circuit. Draw the symbol for a fuse. Write down the job of a fuse. How can electricity be dangerous? What is lightning? What are conductors and insulators Give examples of good conductors and good insulators.

2 Explain how we can get electrocuted and what we can do to stay safe.
“Use and Describe” Describe how we can keep yourself safe when using electricity using key words . What is electricity? What are the dangers of using electricity in the house? How can we stay safe in the house when using electricity? What are the dangers of electricity outside the house? How can we stop yourself being struck by lightening? Use the words fuse, circuit, current, lightening, charge, insulators, conductors correctly. Explain Explain how we can get electrocuted and what we can do to stay safe. Differentiated by scaffolding Level 4? Can leave blank to challenge students further.

3 The job of the fuse is to protect the appliance
Group: Name: _____________________ Current level: _____ End of year 7 Target Level:_____ What do you already know? What have you learnt this lesson? “Know” Draw a complete circuit. Draw the symbol for a fuse. Write down the job of a fuse. The job of the fuse is to protect the appliance How can electricity be dangerous? We can get an electric shock that can cause death. What is lightning? Is electricity that comes from the sky. This is caused by the clouds What are conductors and insulators Conductors allow electricity to pass through them. Metal, copper Insulators do not allow electricity to pass through them eg. wood. Give examples of good conductors and good insulators.

4 Explain how we can get electrocuted and what we can do to stay safe.
“Use and Describe” Describe how we can keep yourself safe when using electricity using key words . What is electricity? What are the dangers of using electricity in the house? You can get electrocuted How can we stay safe in the house when using electricity? Make sure your hands are dry when using electricity, What are the dangers of electricity outside the house? Outside the house you could get stuck in a storm. There may be lightening. How can we stop yourself being struck by lightening? You can go inside a house, if there is no house sit in a car. If there is no car and you are in an open felid then do not sit under a tree. Do not point up. Crouch down and wait for the storm to finish before walking. Use the words fuse, circuit, current, lightening, charge, insulators, conductors correctly. Explain Explain how we can get electrocuted and what we can do to stay safe.
