1 Film Portfolio

2 Assessment You will submit THREE showreels, each lasting no more than three minutes. Each showreel must focus on your production work in ONE role. These can be: - Director - Editor - Cinematographer - Sound designer - Screenwriter or other. Please check with me first if taking another role!

3 Content Showreel 1 and 2 should be made up of EXTRACTS from your class filming exercises and your own short films. Clips should be seconds long. Work submitted is NOT expected to be perfect. You are expected to illustrate PROGRESS over the course. Showreel 3 must be a completed short film lasting no more than 3 minutes. This MUST NOT be an extract from a longer film. DO NOT include credits. You can decide which films to submit for which showreel You CANNOT submit to be assessed in the same role as another student for the same shared project No copyright material may be submitted regardless of your assessed role.

4 Portfolio: Written submission
Along with the video submission, you must submit a written portfolio. This must be no longer than NINE pages maximum – therefore write THREE pages per production role. Clearly articulate the knowledge, insights and perspectives gaines from research and practice Evaluate the key skills acquired, applied and developed. Include key influences from research Provide a sense of challenges that you had to overcome. Pages should be a balance of written and visual evidence.

PRE-PRODUCTION Notes on films watched (inc. short films) Screenshots of films watched (can be annotated) Annotates script Camera, lens and lighting tests Floor plan of where lights and equipment were put Equipment lists Storyboards / Shot List Communications with the rest of your team

PRODUCTION Photos of filming taking place / set-ups Your reflections on a day’s filming Final shot to storyboard comparison POST-PRODUCTION - Colour correction collaboration with the editor
