State Standards Structure of Matter d. Students know the states of matter (solid, liquid, gas) depend on molecular motion. e. Students know that in solids the atoms are closely locked in position and can only vibrate; in liquids the atoms and molecules are more loosely connected and can collide with and move past one another; and in gases the atoms and molecules are free to move independently, colliding frequently.

Crystal Model Instructions
Place your name and period on one of the facets of the crystal All work is to the outside of the crystal. Write the name of the crystal on another facet Draw circles representing molecules in the arrangement of a crystalline structure.
27
Color the facets with colored pencils
Cut out the crystal on the solid lines. Fold the crystal on the dotted lines Tape or glue the tabs so the crystal is together as a 3 dimensional shape Prevent the crystal from being damaged before you turn it in. You can build it at home Due Friday, Oct 14
