2. ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
The endocrine system is the collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, etc.
The endocrine system is composed of a number of glands that produce, store, and secrete hormones .
Hormones can be classified into two broad categories, according to structural properties:
(1) protein hormones
(2) steroid hormones
