The Density Pyramid
This pyramid can be used to set up the algebra for density problems. All that you have to do is cover the one that the problem wants you to find. The math to solve the problem will remain and it will be set up for you.
For example, suppose the problem wants you to find the density. If you cover up the “D” (for density), you see that you are left with M over V which is mass divided by volume. (as it is supposed to be!!!)
If the problem wants you to find the mass, simply cover up the “M” (for mass) and you are left with D times V which is density multiplied by volume. M
Finally, if you want the volume, simply cover up the V and you see that volume is mass divided by density. D V
