10 Southwark Mayflower 400 Fund & Themes
Set up by Southwark Council, United St Saviour’s Charity and British Land Supports community led projects around 400th anniversary of the Mayflower sailing and its themes: Migration, Tolerance, Enterprise & Community

11 Project Elements Marking the Mayflower.
Using the Mayflower’s heritage to create exciting projects that enhance and highlight its story for local residents, young people, schools and visitors Everyone’s Mayflower. Give all communities opportunities to access projects as participants and audiences. Mayflower Legacy. Build strong connections between communities, businesses, schools & cultural organisations that ensure that the Mayflower & 2020 stories remains an important touchstone for Southwark and catalyst for future activities & partnerships.

12 Eligibility - Who can apply
Constituted groups & organisations: Community Groups and Tenant & Resident Associations Charities, Social Enterprises and Schools Faith Based Organisations - where not connected with religion Based in: The SE16 area, or Delivering initiatives in the SE16 area or wider SE1 area

13 Eligibility – Projects, Activities & Events
Live event or activity in the lead up to November 2020: Parade, talk, performance, festival, exhibition, tour, screening, dance, educational activity or similar Include any digital activities - film, photography, social media, website etc. Meets the four themes: migration, tolerance, enterprise and community

14 Fund size £140,000 over two years Allocation per year to be decided

15 Grant Programmes 2 grant programmes opening online 3 times a year
Micro-grants fund: projects, activities, events up to £1K Medium grants fund – projects, activities, events over £1K No upper grant limit Organisations applying for more than £5K must speak to St Saviour’s staff in advance.

16 Use of grants One off activity costs, or
Revenue costs for ongoing activities Creative content, equipment, coordination, security, stewarding & safety, marketing & communications Capital projects excluded

Safeguarding policy and procedure Health & safety plan Risk assessment Requisite licences and permissions Southwark Council will provide support putting these together

26 What happens next Applications assessed for eligibility
Assessment Applications assessed for eligibility Panel decides assessment criteria & allocates funds Successful applicants accept formal grant offer & confirm project dates. Advance payment based on agreed schedule (as relevant) Online end of grant report one month after activities complete. Panel members may visit as necessary. Award Payment & Reporting
