Third Grade Newsletter News for the Week of September 6th, 2015 DATES TO REMEMBER: No School on Mondays Please Call Before 3:30 if you need to change the way your child will be going home. Any person picking up your child must be on the list to do so. Sept. 8th- Mayes County Adair Sept. 15th- School Picture Day Sept. 30th- Pirate 3:15 U.E. Schedule: 7:40-8:05 Breakfast is served 8:10 School Day Begins 11-11:20 3rd Grade Lunch 11:20-11:40 3rd Grade Recess 12:30-1:20 3rd Grade Activity Release Times: 3:55 Car Riders & Early Bus 4:05 Late Bus Spelling List fail, bay, pail, ray, plain, tray, trail, May, braid, sway, gray, plays, paint, snail, great, afraid, thunder, bolt, recipe, distance Sentence: He plays with the gray pail by the bay in May. A Note from the Teacher… Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale now- They cost $35 until the end of the first semester. After that they are $45. Snacks: Snacks are a welcome any day. Please send enough for 26 students once a month. Activity: Please send tennis shoes with your child to wear on the days your child has P.E. They may be asked to sit out if they do not have appropriate shoes on for the activity they are doing that day. Please sign up for remind to receive updates and reminders by texting @tatum3rd to _________________________________________________________ I am still attempting to contact one or two parents per night to make sure every child’s year is off to a good start. If I have not contacted you and you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or text. I adore my class this year and feel so blessed to have such loving and wonderful students. Our focus skills will be compare and contrast, sequence of events and determining the main idea. Language Arts: We will learn about simple, compound and complex sentences Math: We will review double digit addition with regrouping. Science:We will learn about rocks and minerals as time permits.
