2 Look ! What do you see? Is this a tail? or is this a food? Look carefully again. This is a kind of a plant.

3 It's a cactus. Do you know about a cactus? A cactus usually live in the desert well. The desert is very dry and hot. How can cactuses live in the desert well? Do you know ?

4 Because a cactus store a lot of water
in the thick stems. And also its body is covered with spines. Its spines used to be leaves. The spines don’t need to a lot of water. They are thin and sharp. They prevent the plant from drying up.

5 But, some cactuses live in the Alaska and in the South pole.
They can endure in very cold weather.

6 There are many kinds of cactuses.
Some cactuses live for 300 years old. Have you seen cactuses flowers? Most cactuses have beautiful flowers.

7 Do you like cactuses? Then grow cactuses in your house. Cactuses clean the air. They remove bad air indoors. Instead they give fresh air.

8 Raising Cactuses is easy and simple.
First, prepare a cactus and a flowerpot. Next, plant a cactus in the flowerpot with sandy soil.

9 And then, put the cactus by the shiny window in your room.
Remember ! Give water about once a month ! Don’t touch the sharp spines !

10 If you want to increase it ,
cut the part of the cactus. And then, plant it in another flowerpot. You will get new cactus.
