Push Factor – Economic People often leave areas where there is a lack of employment, natural disasters, lack of food or shelter or has a lower standard of living.

People leave a place due to unfair legal systems, lack of govermental tolerance, war or terrorism.

Political persecution means that people are punished when they disagree with the government. This happens most in dictatorships or communist countries.

Communist countries often limit personal freedom. People cannot listen to certain music, watch certain television shows, or even say things bad about the government.
