11 ENROLLMENT IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIMES OF THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR A STUDENT AND FOR THE SCHOOL.
STUDENTS CHOOSE COURSES TO PREPARE FOR COLLEGE AND OTHER POST-SECONDARY GOALS! OEHS USES STUDENTS’ COURSE REQUESTS TO DETERMINE WHAT COURSES ARE OFFERED AND WHEN! CHOOSE COURSES CAREFULLY – CHOOSE COURSES YOU WILL KEEP IN YOUR SCHEDULE!

17 DUAL CREDIT (College Now) ENROLLMENT
If you plan to take a dual credit or College Now class next year, apply to JCCC now, take the ACCUPLACER and send your transcript with ACT scores to JCCC before August.

19 TRYOUT COURSES Most tryouts for special courses will not have been held by the time online enrollment is complete. Once we have final lists from teachers, we will make sure you are placed in the appropriate course. Cheer and Drill can select 1.0 of PE Activity and it will be automatically be replaced if you make the squad

20 SPECIAL PERMISSION COURSES
Special permission courses are marked with on your elective sheet. You MUST get a teacher signature on the back of your enrollment sheet or it will be dropped! Examples: Newspaper-Cave Yearbook-Cave Peer Mentor for Interpersonal Skills-Etherton

21 CAREER and TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Center based technical education courses are offered through the Olathe Schools and are open to Olathe Juniors and Seniors. These programs are scheduled for 2-hour or 3-hour blocks of time. Students must plan carefully to fit a program into his/her course of study. Students that applied for will find out mid January if they have been accepted. If you applied for one of these programs, once we find out if you’ve been selected, we will preschedule 2-3 hours for you. It will show up as Teacher Aide.

23 SENIOR YEAR OPPORTUNITIES
Teacher Aide Forms in Counseling Office Late Start/Early Release Forms not available until Fall 2019 Early Graduation Must meet with counselor & parent in May of this year and complete application

24 COMPLETING ENROLLMENT:
Fill out your enrollment worksheet (it will be collected), making sure you have 7 total credits of course requests, and 2 total credits of alternates listed. Use Step-by-Step Directions provided to start entering course selections in the StudentVue Online Enrollment program DO NOT LOCK your online course requests!! You will meet with the counselors to finalize enrollment

25 THINGS TO REMEMBER: You NEED 7 full credits (14 course selections) and 2 credits (4 selections) of alternates (Do not choose a class as a course request and an alternate) You MUST select A and B for full year classes Do NOT select classes not listed as an option on your worksheets-they will be deleted and your alternates will take their place You MUST have signatures in order to enroll in special permission courses If selecting a class that can be taken for more than one semester(i.e. Weights), you MUST select that class twice

26 MORE TO REMEMBER: Enroll in classes that fulfill graduation requirements Enroll in classes based on post-secondary plans/goals Build a transcript you can be proud of and that will be competitive for scholarships Take this process seriously; the classes you choose will be on your schedule PLEASE enter your requests online before you meet with counselors to review, BUT PLEASE DON’T LOCK!!!

27 COMPLETING 4 YEAR PLAN ON CAREER CRUISING:
This year all Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors will need to complete their full 4 YEAR PLAN as part of their IPS (Individual Plan of Study) After you have entered courses online in StudentVue, you will use step-by-step directions provided to log into When you meet with counselors to finalize enrollment, we will also check that this has been completed

29 COMPLETING 4 YEAR PLAN Step 3: Add classes to “My Course Plan”
Click on the “+” and search for classes

30 COMPLETING 4 YEAR PLAN Step 5: Submit!
Step 4: Check Graduation Tracking Once you have loaded 7 full credits and Alternative credits, hit “submit” This MUST be completed by the day you enroll. Click on “Learn More” to ensure you have selected courses for all FOUR years to meet graduation requirements.
