1 Ecclesiastes 10:20 Good morning Church! ******

2 ***** - Do you know what this is?
- My good friend growing up was Shaun Manning, he had five brothers and I spent a lot of time at his house. One day they got a boomerang. You throw a boomerang like a Frisbee and it goes out and comes back to you. His older brother Shane threw the thing and his mom yelled out of the house to him and it came back and hit him in the head. - Some things are just funny…. How many of you have said something you wished you could take back? - All of us right? -Do you remember how bad you felt? -Do you remember realizing it was wrong? -Do you recall realizing there was nothing you could do to take back those words. We’ve all been there right? *****

3 Our Words are Powerful ******* -Our words are powerful
-God wants us to take charge of , he wants us to be in control of the things that come out of our mouths -Words can be explosive to say the least. -In James chapter 3 God uses three things to show how something very small can make a big difference. ******* Our Words are Powerful

10 ***** “Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalms 141:3 -Its really important to keep a close eye on the things we say. The Psalmist here is very wise to ask God to help guard his mouth. *****

12 “Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” Matthew 12:34

16 Matthew 12:36 “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak” *Today my goal really is to get us to think before we speak -Because God will hold each of us accountable. Proverbs 10:11 says the mouth of the righteous are a fountain of life. -Has your speech been that of a Christian? -Has it been building up -Or Tearing down? -James says in ch 3:11 Can fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring.
