This will give you a bag that is 4 inches by 4 inches. This gives a nice firm stitch, but you can change the thickness of the yarn and the size of the needles to suit yourself. For the bag Cast on 25 stitches by the cable method. Moss stitch (k1, p1 on every row) until the work measures 8 inches. Cast off. Make 5 petals. For the centre of the flower buttonhole stitch round a small washer. Attach petals and centre to the bag with slip stitch and put a small bead in the centre of the washer. Fold bag in half, right sides together and slip stitch side seams. Turn to right side. For the strap twist several strands of yarn together and stitch securely in place.
