WARM-UP: NEW Behavior Log is filled out for 10/24/16
Copied Objective, HW into assignment list and ask questions
2
Mantra - Your Turn! Today is a great day for science because:
Science is power. We are powerful because: We always make a difference.
3
Goals * State the Objective(s)/Standard (s)- RI 7.3; W2; Sci 2c
* State the Purpose (Big Idea) - SWBAT explain how circuits and generators are related to energy, and apply problem solving skills to real life situations as told in a pick-your-path-story. SWBAT differentiate between elements in a circuit diagram and draw the flow of electrons through it, while analyzing how text structure effects the development of ideas in real life situations as told in a pick-your-path-story.
4
Agenda I Do: Vocabulary/ Sample Problems We Do: Story Reading
You Do: Checkpoint Problems Review Summary/ Feedback/ Questions
5
Introduction to electricity in circuits
>HOT question: a. Using your knowledge of chemistry and atoms, predict what is really flowing around when we talk about “electricity”. b. What do you think it means for there to be a stronger electrical charge? More power?
8
Guess the Meaning/Role of Each:
10
Draw arrows to show the flow of electrons through the circuit.
12
Story Check-in: What main ideas have been in the story so far?
How can we connect these main ideas? Update what is currently happening in the story… Who is battling who, where, when, how? Bubble Map What new topics enter the story today that you are familiar with?
13
Text Structure The problems continued to grow on all of the halls. Zombies rampaged and their numbers increased. Banging on Ms. Powell’s windows and doors, the zombies seemed to know that it was the last stronghold on the hall. With the zombies focused on the room next door, Ms. Krichten looked around at her homeroom students on the roof. Laying next to them were only two more textbooks. She knew they wouldn’t last. Ms. Krichten turned to her students and told them she had a solution and that they needed to stay safe and stay on the roof.
15
Last Items/ Questions There are multiple parts to a circuit, with figures for each along with different ways to organize text. Need Physics help or want to talk about your grades? Office Hours Saturday, 12-1 at TBA

GO GO FEEDBACK FRONTIER!
Miss K – In my baggie (Comments on my teaching, living up to my goals, and any personal things you need to privately tell me) Your peers – Feedback to 1 or 2 people… What is something you saw him/her do that matched up with our class values? Why was it really great to see this?
