EMS Community providers Hours of operation: Any time the center is closed, to include evenings, holidays, weekends.

3 CCRI Functions Overview
Triage – determines the needs of callers and offering appropriate treatment options On-site Calls – assessing and addressing patients’ psychiatric needs in their natural environment as requested by family members, neighbors, patients themselves, treatment providers, law enforcement, EMS, etc. Telehealth Calls – assessing and addressing patients’ psychiatric needs as requested by EMS when there is no primary care need. Community Liaison- Coordinating care for patients throughout the community in order to improve treatment and continuity of treatment.

4 MOBILE CRISIS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT – THE DANCE CONTINUES…..
WHEN LAW ENFORCEMENT MAY NEED CCRI….. on a scene with a psychotic individual on a scene with a suicidal individual for info/consultation about psychiatric issues after a critical incident for a critical incident stress debriefing WHEN CCRI NEEDS LAW ENFORCEMENT…… always

5 Capabilities limitations Cannot transport individuals
Can facilitate both voluntary and involuntary admissions to hospitals 24/7 Will always respond to scenes when requested by law enforement, unless person is intoxicated Can connect patients to outpatient resources Ensure continuity of care for open CMHC patients Note: Facilitation of involuntary commitment may not be available in all areas Cannot transport individuals Cannot respond to scenes as quickly as law enforcement/EMS – NO BLUE LIGHTS! Cannot assess intoxicated individuals in the “field”
