Who I am at Beccles… What do you think makes Beccles special? “Beccles medical centre is a large, welcoming practice. Everyone is supportive and makes working 5 days a week enjoyable!” Tell us about a typical morning? “A typical morning would involve coming in at 8:30am, greeting everyone in the team and finding out where I am for the day. When working on the HUB I am a keen worker to get the call queue down to prevent patients waiting, it’s a real satisfaction to me to know that everyone has had a chance to have their call answered quickly, however due to being an apprentice I am not on HUB every morning so every day is different.” Can you tell me about your role here? “My role as an apprentice means I work in several different departments. I work in reception, other times answering the phones in HUB, working along side the HCA’s , secretaries, sometimes scanning and Data Quality.” What is your favourite time of the day? “My favourite time of the day at Beccles Medical Centre is in the afternoons. This is because I enjoy giving test results to patients, or working in data quality sorting LTC packs, working out average BP readings or visits.” What would you like people to know about working in a GP practice? “Working in a GP practice can be busy at times but as receptionists we aim to please every patient. It’s also a caring, rewarding job, everyone works as one large family”. An important part of the future of Beccles Medical Centre are the new staff that start with us, and none so than Megan who is an apprentice at Beccles and has been here for a year. Megan is a delight to work with and we are pleased to have her on our team…
