The Foggy Puddle By:Amiah Cain/ 5th period/ Mr.Gordon Turned in on :52am
2
Question:Which temperature will create a fog after adding 1 ice cube?
3
Why I chose this I chose this because I find Fog very fascinating!
Also my previous project involved dry ice and this was the closest project to it.If this works out then I will start putting ice cubes in my drinks.
4
Hypothesis If I add 1 ice cube to the neck of each bottle,
which temperature will create fog?
5
Variables Independent:Temperature of the water
Dependent:Amount of fog created Constants:Amount of water per bottle.Size of bottle.Size of ice cubes.Shape of bottles.
6
Materials used Two empty same sized bottles. sink 2 temperatures
camera 2 icecubes Fun!
7
My procedure Obtain 2 temperatures of water.[hot or cold]
Fill ¼ of bottle with water. Add 1 ice cube to each neck. Record whether fog is created or not. Repeat with other temperature. Recycle!
8
Data P/1 Temperature Hot Cold Was fog created? Yes No
9
Data P/2 Winner! Loser!
10
Conclusion I’ve learned that hot water creates more fog than cold water does when put in the situation its been in. I did not have problems but if I’d have a 2nd chance my presentation of the bottles would have been pretty.I would also use bigger bottles.
11
P/2 If i put holes in the bottle there will be
Hypothesis If i put holes in the bottle there will be a cooler effect than not to. Obtain bottles.(1 w/holes and1w/out) Fill with hot water. Add 1 ice cube to each neck. Record the amount of coolness(1-10) Recycle! Procedure Conclusion-water was uneven and not hot enough. if I had a 2nd chance I’d use hotter water and smaller holes. Independent=Whether there are holes or not. Dependent=Amount of coolness created. Contestant=Amount of water.type of bottle.Size of holes. Title Rating 1-10 W/holes Without holes 5 Data Variable
