Matthew 4:13-25; Luke 5:1-11 Preaching In Capernaum Andrew and Peter, “they immediately left the nets, and followed him.” (Matthew 8:14) Jesus and the miraculous catch. (Luke 5:1-9). Peter’s reaction to the miracle, “Depart from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!” Mans reaction to being in the presence of God.

Mark 1:16-39 Preaching In Capernaum Jesus’ teaching with authority (exousia – the right to rule) (verse 22) + Jesus casts out a demon in the synogogue (verses 23-26) = “A new teaching with authority” The news spread everywhere

Mark 1:16-39 Preaching In Capernaum Jesus then heals Simon Peter’s mother-in- law. (verses 29-31) The response to the teaching and miracles (verses 32-34): They (the whole city) brought all who were ill and demon possessed to the door of Simon and Andrew. (verses 32-34)
