SoftBank New Frontiers Presented by: Laurie Sapp Blood Services Product Analyst

2 Objectives Explore the new frontiers:
Upgrading to SoftLab 4.5 with SoftBank New SoftBank features

3 Upgrading to SoftLab 4.5 with SoftBank

4 Upgrading to SoftLab 4.5 The versions of SoftBank available with SoftLab 4.5 Data migration Validation

5 Versions of SoftBank available with SoftLab 4.5
SoftBank Version 25.3 This version contains new SoftBank features SoftBank Version as well as the interface to blood storage devices such as Heamonetics Blood Track system.

6 Data migration SoftBank setup records including Quality Control are copied in the upgrade at the beginning of the project. Patient and Inventory are copied into the upgrade prior to going live with the upgrade

7 Validation Items outside of the SoftBank system to include in your upgrade validation plan: Billing Result Reporting (outbound) - this is new result reporting system HIS (inbound) - there are several new aspects to the this interface

8 New SoftBank Features

9 New Features in SoftBank
Order Linking - ability to look across stays Dividing products - open vs. closed system Octaplas products Order Move Exception Priorities Complex retype test Automatic clearing of worksheets Additional Patient Identifiers Supervisor security levels

10 Order Linking-look across stays
This feature enables users to use a valid type and screen result on one stay with a product order on another stay for the same (MRN) patient Parameter driven hos_TSLink when set to “Y” order link functionality is enabled

11 Order Linking - look across stays

12 Order Linking - look across stays

13 Dividing products - open vs. closed system
This feature allows for differentiation of open vs. closed system when products are divided. The product outdate is adjusted accordingly. The appropriate ISBT label is generated New fields in SETUP>Blood Product: After dividing in open system ISBT-128 Bar code for product divided in open system

14 Dividing products-open vs. closed system

15 Dividing products-open vs. closed system
New hosparam: hos_DivOpenSys – This parameter controls the default value in the Open System checkbox in Inventory>Edit>Create Product>Divide and Inventory>Product Orders Service>Create Product>Divide. Y- Units will be divided using an open system. N- Units will be divided using a closed system.

16 Dividing products-open vs. closed system

17 Dividing products - open vs. closed system
Related hosparam: hos_DivExpDT - This parameter controls whether expiration date/time is copied from original product or entered manually, when a product is divided. Y - The system defaults the original expiration date/time when a product is divided. N - The system requires the user to manually enter expiration date/time when a product is divided.

18 Octaplas products Octaplas products can be delivered into SoftBank
Parameter hos_isbt_DIN_pfx- to specify the characters that the system will recognize as the first character of an ISBT donation identification number "X" for Octaplas products "P" for CAP proficiency ISBT labels can be generated

19 Octaplas products Available products: O, A, B, AB
ABO is encoded in the ISBT product code barcode, and can be specified in blood product setup. When product with ABO in the product code is delivered in Inventory>In/Out>Delivery/Batch Delivery, SoftBank compares the ABO encoded in the product code barcode with the ABO encoded in the blood type barcode.

21 Octaplas products - label

22 Order Move This feature allows moving an order from one stay to another. New sub-option added in PATIENT>Orders: Omove. Users with security access will have the ability to move orders

23 Order Move

24 Order Move

25 Exception Priorities Hierarchy of exceptions are possible by assigning priority. Exceptions will display in a specified color based upon the priority assigned.

26 Exception Priorities

27 Complex retype test The system allows a retype test to be defined as a complex test. Setup driven Allows for flexibility in retype testing.

28 Complex retype test First test defined as basic with “Category” defined and logic table completed

29 Complex retype test Second test defined as basic test with “Category” defined as “Q”. Test with POS Interpretation will automatically be quarantined

30 Complex retype test

31 Complex retype test

32 Automatic clearing of worksheets
In Worksheet setup the Auto-clear should be checked to enable completed results to be cleared automatically from the worksheet.

33 Additional Patient Identifiers
System will support additional patient identifiers Field names of the additional identifiers is parameter driven. The display of the additional identifiers in all patient header windows and print on patient reports is parameter driven Sent to SoftBank from HIS or SoftLab

34 Additional Patient Identifiers
Example: Shriner MRN, TraumaStroke#

35 Supervisor security levels
Supervisor security levels with “S” represents the highest supervisor level and 9 is the lowest supervisor level providing flexibility for supervisor overrides. Different security roles should be built in Security Management assigning different supervisor levels. Parameters will contain the appropriate security level of who will be performing the Supervisor Override function. Note: “S” may be replaced with a specified Level 2 – 9, 9 being the lowest level of Supervisor permission as defined in Security
