Erosion and Weathering
Leslie Maples and Lori Moses 9/22/11
2
Weathering Weathering is the process of wearing away rocks by natural means. This is the slowest of all destructive processes.
3
What is Erosion? Erosion is the process of moving sediment by wind, water, or ice. Erosion continues the work of weathering by loosening and transporting particles/sediment.
4
Deposition Deposition is deposits of material which are added to a landform. Delta is the area at the end of the river, before it enters the ocean, where sediment is deposited to form land.
5
Glaciers Glaciers are large, slow moving chunks of ice. Sometimes rivers of ice.
