Step 1 Retrieve Chromebook Form groups
Open the following documents from the website Blue Monkey Sheet MLA Citations Comment Code Sheet Exchange drafts with a person in your group NOTE: if you do not have a complete draft, be working on the draft, not peer editing NOTE: if your draft is not printed, open your draft and pass your Chromebook to your partner

Step 2: Nuts and bolts 1. Using Blue Monkey, check all aspects of formatting 2. Using MLA Citations, check works cited entry for accuracy 3. Scan essay for quotations. Make sure each quote is cited correctly: (Wiesel 54).

Step 3: Introductions Read intro and make sure the required elements are there: Technique, background (author’s full name, book title in quotes, and 1-2 sentence summary) and clear, one sentence thesis Using Intro scale, rate the intro from 1-4 and add any relevant comments Evaluate the clarity and specificity of the thesis

4. Authentic transitions
Read the body of the essay Bracket, label, and define each chunk (1+2 or 2+1) Underline each TS Evaluate whether transitions are where they belong and if they are authentic In each TS To introduce each new chunk Between CD’s in 2+1 chunks

Chunks Go back to first BP and reread it
Evaluate the quality of the TS: is it clear, concise, and arguable? For the first chunk, using Comment Code sheet, make comments on the CD and the CM Make sure the CM talks about specific parts of the CD Make sure the CM relates CD to EVERY aspect of the TS Do the same for the remaining chunks as well

Style Reread the 2nd BP Mark any and all confusing or mispunctuated sentences using the Comment Code sheet Mark any strong, interesting sentences using Comment Code sheet Mark any confusing words Mark any “tired” words and suggest better ones Mark any use of 1st of 2nd person pronouns Circle 2-3 words you feel are particularly well chosen

Wrap-up Taking turns, verbalize to your partner the strengths and weaknesses of they essay Final drafts due on Friday, 12/14
